ASSIGNMENT 5: Video Effects

I am still working with this one. It wasn’t until after I chose Gumby as a main character and began filming that I realized that I would have problems using it with green screen. I ended up putting a white piece of foamboard behind it, and then, of course, Ultra Key picked up the white in the eyes. I ended up just masking that part out. I will want to go back and add some effects with his eyes turning red or maybe a sort of intense zoom. I’m still experimenting.

I filmed Gumby with the foamboard. Then I downloaded clips from events that I remember from my childhood. Gumby is from my early childhood, and the Iran Hostage crisis, as well as the fall of the Soviet Union, are from later on. Basically, Gumby represents my past, both good and bad. The music is a loose representation of the music I listened to during my youth. I made it in GarageBand.

I included normal footage at the beginning and end to hopefully give a little more context. There is more to this, and it is my final project. I am hoping it comes together and makes sense.
